Masjid Fallahee is a community house of prayer on Clinton Avenue in Newark. We open our doors five times a day, every day, for whoever comes. This is our story.
From a humble storefront, a sacred space.
Walk down Clinton Avenue in Newark and you might pass us without noticing. Our masjid lives in a storefront — green awning, painted brick, an unassuming entrance. There are no domes, no minarets, no marble. Just a door.
But step through that door, and you'll find an interior that has been built and tended with care: green archways, warm wood, a deep crimson prayer carpet, the quiet of a sacred space.
This is what Masjid Fallahee has always been — a place that reflects who we are. A community in Newark that has built something real and enduring on a city street, with our own hands and our own savings, without needing the building to announce itself.
What we believe in
The five daily prayers. The weekly Jumu'ah. The teaching of Quran to our children. The gathering of believers. The care of our elders. The welcoming of new Muslims. The preparation of our deceased for the next life. The marriages and the meals and the everyday moments that make a community.
And we believe in service — not as something separate from worship, but as part of it. Which is why we share our building with the Clinton Hill Social Services Center next door, and why our sense of who we are includes our neighbors.

Worship First
The five daily prayers are the foundation of everything we do. Everything else flows from that.
Hospitality
Every person who walks through our door — Muslim or not, regular or first-timer — is welcomed as a guest of honor.
Service
Worship and service belong together. We care for our neighbors as part of caring for our faith.
Community
We are a place for families, for elders, for children, for the lonely, for the searching. There is room for everyone.

Clinton Hill Social Services Center
Next door to the masjid, sharing our building and our mission, sits the Clinton Hill Social Services Center. While the masjid is our place of worship, the services center is our place of practical care for the community — a food pantry, family support, youth programs, and resources for neighbors of every faith.
This partnership is not incidental. It reflects what we believe: that a faith community is measured not only by its prayers, but by how it cares for those around it.
